How To Apply – For International Students

If you are a J-1, embassy or dependent student and do not need an I-20, you should use our regular application process – ESL fees will apply.

If you are transferring in from another American school and have an F-1 visa, please see the instructions for transfer students.

If you are applying for an F-1 visa and need an I-20, follow these steps:

Step One: Application

The following documentation is requested for a student to apply:

  1. Fully completed and signed International Application
  2. $700 Registration and Administrative Fee
Add $50 if you want your acceptance packet and I-20 sent via FedEx.
  3. Proof of Identity (copy of birth certificate or copy of passport)
  4. Proof of Financial Support
  5. Official transcript of grades for past two years.
  6. High school students should submit all years in which high school credit is to be received (8th -12th grades as applicable).

Applications should be mailed to:

Fairfax Christian School
1624 Hunter Mill Road
Vienna, Virginia 22182

Step Two: Processing

International acceptance is based on academic performance. Students do not need a SLEP or TOEFL test to be accepted. Placement tests are done at the Fairfax Christian School once the student has arrived.

If an international student wants to place out of all English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and have the ESL fee waived, proof of a score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT must be submitted with the application.

The Fairfax Christian School does not accept students with discipline problems.

Once the application is processed and the student is accepted, you will receive an acceptance packet containing your acceptance letter from the school, I-20 Form and invoices with wire information.

Step Three: Getting Visa

  1. Wire tuition payment to the Fairfax Christian School -- refundable if visa is denied. Receipt will be sent via fax or e-mail.
  2. Set-up visa interview with local American Consulate.
  3. Take Acceptance packet with tuition receipt to visa interview and get visa.
