FCS - Academics

Dress Code For All Students:
All Fairfax Christian School students must wear uniforms and are required to maintain clean and neat appearances. Shirts are expected to be buttoned and shirttails must be tucked in at all times. Only the top shirt button may be unfastened. If T-shirts are worn under the uniform, they must be white and without printing. Students may not wear outer coats to class. Dress code compliance appears on students’ report cards.

For Boys:
Hair must be short or layered, off the collar and above the ears. No jewelry, makeup or hair color is permitted. Watches are acceptable.

Dark brown or black dress/loafer style shoes or ALL white athletic shoes may be worn.

For Girls:
Simple jewelry may be worn (for example, one earring per ear). High school girls may wear modest make up.

Skirts may not be hemmed above the knee.

Dark brown or black dress/loafer style shoes or ALL white athletic shoes may be worn. No heels or open toe shoes may be worn.

NOTE CHANGE FOR 2004-2005: All shirts, sweaters, girls skirts and boys pants must have the FCS monogram. No exceptions. (You may have items previously purchased from the Dress Code returned for monogramming at a small fee.)

K-4 Through 4th Grades:

Girls
1) plaid or pinstripe jumper
2) white or light blue Peter Pan collar shirt shirt with FCS monogram (long or short sleeve)
3) light blue or navy blue turtleneck shirt with FCS monogram
4) all white or navy blue socks or tights
5) optional navy blue bike shorts underneath jumper
6) optional navy blue V-neck or cardigan sweater with FCS monogram

Boys
1) navy blue or khaki pants with FCS monogram
2) white or light blue polo shirt with FCS monogram (long or short sleeve)
3) light blue or navy blue turtleneck shirt with FCS monogram
4) all white or navy blue socks
5) brown or black leather belt (optional for kindergarten students)
6) optional navy blue V-neck sweater with FCS monogram

5th Through 8th Grades:

Girls
1) navy blue or plaid kilt skirt with FCS monogram
2) white or light blue oxford or polo shirt with FCS monogram (long or short sleeve)
3) light blue or navy blue turtleneck shirt with FCS monogram
4) all white or navy blue socks or tights
5) optional bike shorts underneath skirts
6) optional navy blue V-neck or cardigan sweater with FCS monogram

Boys
1) navy blue or khaki pants with FCS monogram
2) white or light blue oxford or polo shirt with FCS monogram (long or short sleeve)

9th Through 12th Grades:

Girls
1) navy blue or khaki A-line skirt with FCS monogram
2) white or blue/white stripe oxford shirt with FCS monogram (long or short sleeve)
3) light blue or navy blue turtleneck shirt with FCS monogram
4) all white or navy blue socks, white or navy blue tights or sheer stockings
5) optional navy blue V-neck or cardigan sweater with FCS monogram

Boys
1) navy blue or khaki pants with FCS monogram

3) light blue or navy blue turtleneck shirt with FCS monogram

7th Through 10th Physical Education:

Students in the 7th through 10th grades are permitted to change into gym uniforms for P.E. class. All students must purchase gym uniforms and will be required to wear them during part of the school year.

Optional items such as fleece jackets with FCS monogram, backpacks with FCS monogram, headbands, etc. are available in coordinating materials.
